The Sword – Gods Of The Earth

Austin, Texas's The Sword arrived fully formed with their 2006 debut Age Of Winters, but it was Gods Of The Earth that cemented their place as one of the defining heavy rock bands of their generation. Released in 2008, the album doubled down on the band's riff-driven, mythology-soaked sound, drawing from the same deep well of Black Sabbath, Thin Lizzy and classic doom that made their debut so compelling. Dense, powerful and immaculately crafted, it remains one of the finest records in the modern stoner and doom canon.

This is the 15th Anniversary Edition, released exclusively for Record Store Day 2023 on Kemado Records. Pressed on striking "Pyrite" coloured vinyl (Gold / Black Galaxy) and housed in a reflective mirrorboard jacket with a printed inner sleeve including lyrics, it is a fitting tribute to a landmark record. Limited to just 4,600 copies worldwide.
