Vintage fuzz, wah-wah guitars and a driving rhythm section send Spaceship Landing's self-titled debut deep into the space-rock wilderness. Drawing on the exploratory jams of early-1970s krautrock, the German band stretch heavy riffs into long-form psychedelic excursions, with organ, saxophone and guitar effects opening up the scenery along the way.
Originally self-released in 2006, the album led to appearances at Roadburn and Stoned From The Underground. This 2012 World In Sound double-LP reissue expands the material with three bonus tracks and analogue remastering. From shorter bursts to the seventeen-minute “Erics Mom”, it is a record to settle into, letting the quieter passages make the next surge of fuzz hit harder.
