Soundgarden - Down On The Upside (2019 Orange & Purple 2LP)

Heavy riffs, uneasy melodies and moments of unexpected delicacy give Down On The Upside its restless character. From Pretty Noose and Burden In My Hand to Blow Up The Outside World, Soundgarden balance force with atmosphere, making this a record worth exploring beyond its best-known songs.

The songwriting credits reflect contributions from Chris Cornell, Kim Thayil, Ben Shepherd and Matt Cameron, with mandolin and mandola on Ty Cobb adding another texture to the album. This limited-edition 2019 remastered reissue/repress was released as part of Soundgarden's 35th-anniversary vinyl series, pairing an orange-swirled LP with a purple-marbled LP on 180-gram vinyl.
