Los Angeles deathcore band Once Human are built around two heavy metal veterans: vocalist Lauren Hart and guitarist Logan Mader, formerly of Machine Head and Soulfly. Scar Weaver (11 February 2022, Ear Music) is their third studio album and their most ambitious: technically ferocious, melodically sharp, and produced with a clarity that lets every element breathe. One of the strongest deathcore records of 2022.

The album features a guest appearance from Robb Flynn of Machine Head on "Deadlock" — a natural pairing given Mader's history with the band, and one of the record's standout moments.
