Produced by John Zorn, it careens through funk, thrash, ska, lounge, and avant-garde noise within the span of a single track, held together by nothing but sheer audacity and Mike Patton's chameleonic vocal range. Thirty-plus years on, it remains one of the most genuinely strange records ever released on a major label.

This Rocktober 2025 edition from Rhino presents the album on translucent orange vinyl across two LPs in a gatefold sleeve. A fitting format for a record that has always demanded to be taken seriously as an object.
