Monolord - Neverending (Blue Sea Vinyl LP)

Molten riffs and hypnotic repetition meet a sharper focus on Neverending. Working with producer Sylvia Massy, Monolord give their enveloping doom sound a fresh direction, balancing long-form weight with more compact songs and lyrics that turn towards relationships and personal upheaval.

Formed in Gothenburg in 2013, the Swedish trio bring together guitarist and vocalist Thomas Jäger, bassist Mika Häkki and drummer Esben Willems. Here, the groove-led You Bastard sits alongside the extended pull of Inside a Collider and Oozing Wound. Closing track It's Neverending introduces guest vocals from Jörgen Sandström, formerly of Entombed, whose death-metal delivery marks a departure from Jäger's usual vocal role. This edition is pressed on Blue Sea vinyl through Relapse Records.
