Machine Head: The More Things Change (Gatefold 2xLP)

Released in 1997 as the follow-up to the era-defining Burn My Eyes, The More Things Change... is the Machine Head record that too many people slept on. Where its predecessor announced the band to the world, this one dug deeper, leaning harder into groove metal's most aggressive instincts while Robb Flynn's songwriting grew darker and more focused.

It's a record with a significant place in the band's history: the first to feature drummer Dave McClain, who would go on to anchor the Machine Head sound for decades, and the last to feature original guitarist Logan Mader. That tension, of endings and beginnings, runs through the whole album.

Now reissued on gatefold 2xLP with insert via Atlantic.
