Greenleaf - Agents Of Ahriman (2015 Clear Vinyl LP)

Thick fuzz, Hammond colour and a hard-driving rhythm section give Agents Of Ahriman its swagger. Greenleaf draw on the earthy weight of seventies hard rock without losing the bite of Swedish stoner rock, putting memorable songs at the centre of the riff-heavy action.

Formed around 1999 and 2000 by Dozer guitarist Tommi Holappa, drummer Daniel Lidén and bassist/engineer Bengt Bäcke, Greenleaf brought together musicians from across Sweden's heavy-rock scene. Originally released in 2007, this album features Truckfighters' Oskar Cedermalm on lead vocals and former Dozer drummer Erik Bäckwall behind the kit. Lowrider's Peder Bergstrand guests on vocals for Black Tar, while Jocke Åhslund's Hammond adds another layer to the band's guitar-led sound.

This is the 2015 clear-vinyl reissue/repress on Cargo Records and Small Stone Records. The album was produced and mixed by Bengt Bäcke and Tommi Holappa, with recording centred on Rockhouse Studios in Borlänge, Sweden.
