The Album That Almost Wasn't
Recorded under enormous internal pressure, Saturday Night Wrist is one of the most emotionally raw records in the Deftones catalogue. Released in 2006 after a fractured, stop-start recording process that nearly broke the band apart, it arrived as something bruised and beautiful: dense, atmospheric and shot through with the kind of tension that only comes from real conflict.
Where White Pony was sleek and expansive, Saturday Night Wrist is more unsettled. Chino Moreno's vocals drift between aggression and vulnerability, Stephen Carpenter's guitars churn beneath layers of texture, and the whole thing holds together through sheer force of feeling. A record that rewards patience and repeated listens.

About Deftones
Formed in Sacramento, California in 1988, Deftones have spent nearly four decades carving out a space entirely their own: too heavy for alternative rock, too melodic for metal, too experimental for either. Saturday Night Wrist is their fifth studio album and one of their most divisive and rewarding.
