There are records that define a moment, and then there are records that define a sound. Wiseblood is the latter. Released in 1996 and produced by John Custer, it remains the high-water mark of Corrosion of Conformity's catalogue and one of the most influential heavy albums of its decade.

With Pepper Keenan at the helm, COC fused Southern rock swagger, doom-laden weight, and hard-driving groove into something that felt both timeless and completely of its moment. "Drowning in a Daydream", "Redemption City", "Man or Ash", and the title track are the kind of songs that stay with you long after the needle lifts.

Music On Vinyl's 2022 reissue presents Wiseblood across two 180g audiophile pressings, giving the record the space and fidelity it has always deserved. If you've only ever heard this on CD, you haven't really heard it.
