Brant Bjork: Jalamanta
Brant Bjork was the original drummer of Kyuss and one of the architects of desert rock. Jalamanta (1999, Dune Records) is his debut solo album and the record where he stepped out front as a songwriter and vocalist for the first time: low-slung, sun-baked, and completely unhurried. It sounds like the Coachella Valley at 3am and it hasn't aged a day.
This 20th Anniversary reissue on Heavy Psych Sounds features a fresh remix by Tony Mason and a remaster by John McBain, sculpted to realise the desert rock sound Bjork originally heard in his head. Pressed on white splatter rainbow vinyl, strictly limited to 250 copies worldwide. Sleeve NM, vinyl Mint and never played.
