Black Sabbath: Sabotage
July 1975. Black Sabbath were in the middle of a legal war with their former manager, and the fury of it is all over this record. Sabotage is their sixth studio album and one of their most ferocious: paranoid, experimental, and relentlessly heavy. "Symptom of the Universe" contains one of the earliest proto-thrash riffs ever committed to tape. "Megalomania" is nine minutes of Ozzy at his most unhinged. "The Writ" closes the album like a verdict. Iommi, Butler, Ward, and Osbourne at the absolute peak of their powers.
This 2015 remaster on Sanctuary/BMG is pressed on 180g vinyl in stereo, delivering the full weight and warmth of the original recording with exceptional clarity. New and factory sealed.
